2011 is the Year of Magnificent Energy … “to access to this energy,” my yoga teacher Natascha Hennessy at Pure Prana Yoga Studio said, “we must cultivate being in the moment, which allows us mastery over time. When are in the moment then we are ALWAYS in the right place at the right time.” The best way to be in the moment is Meditation.
For many, including me, meditation is a hard practice to start and keep going. I tried many times to start a regular practice having heard all meditation’s benefits (reduces stress, relaxes the body and mind, boosts the immune system). This autumn, having done yoga two to three times per week and loving the meditation part, I finally buckled down into a more regular practice, ten to twenty minutes per day five times a week. Its a fabulous way to start the day calm and grounded!
2011 also has a specific meditation and mantra to go with it…Ek Ong Kar Sat Guru Prasad. Natascha gave us the details below and you can listen to it here.
Ek Ong Kaar, Sat Gur Parsaad
Sat Gur Parsaad, Ek Ong Kaar
- Pull the Navel Point in on EK.
- Release the Navel Point on KAAR.
- Lift the Diaphragm Lock with SAT and GUR.
- Release the lock on the sound of PARSAAD.
This will create a wave-like motion of tension and relaxation in the torso. It will release great heat in the body. Chant this mantra 11 minutes each day to unlock connection to the universe, spirit and your soul. After you chant this mantra do not say anything negative for some time. It is a very creative chant. Anything you say will amplified and created with great force. (Source: Kri International Teacher Training Manual Level 1 © Yogi Bhajan 2003)
