Marks & Spencer (M&S) London has been selling them like crazy since their June launch and this week M&S Hong Kong started selling them… Le Froglet wine in individual plastic wine glasses!

The Tulip, developed by James Nash of Wine Innovations Ltd., was presented on BBC’s popular tv show “Dragon’s Den,” where entrepreneurs pitch their ideas to five venture capitalists.  Everyone told James he was was crazy… people would never buy this.  He decided to try his luck with M&S… the packing manager said yes and months later Nash and M&S have a big success on their hands expanding across the globe!

The individual 187ml glasses come in Le Froglet (Shiraz, Rosé and Chardonnay from the Languedoc region of France; they cost £2.25 in the UK) and The Italian Job (Italian Sauvignon Blanc, Italian Sangiovese Merlot and a Sangiovese Rose wine).  Wall Street Journal tasted Le Froglet … “staff gave the glasses a sip and found the light-bodied wines to be fresher than expected, and a worthwhile purchase. The one caveat: They may be best suited for quick drinking. Half an hour later, the wines had lost their fruitier initial charm and fell flat.”

Cheers to wine on the go!
